Christmas
We've had a wonderfully indulgent Christmas at Estuary House, very peaceful, and we are leaving fully refreshed to face the New Year. The house is extremely clean and well-equipped and very comfortable. Five stars!!! Would recommend Les Halles and the pizzeria next door for uncomplicated and good value food. We also had an excellent lunch at Le Prieuré in Locronan and at Cote Mer in Cameret-sur-Mer. Hope to be back one day! Anne & Phil (Devon)

Really do not want to leave, what a wonderful house and location. We will certainly miss the view! Evie (20 months) enjoyed the swings, pool, garden & local beaches. (Dictated by my 94, yes, 94 year old father) When we entered the lounge and saw the view from the French windows, breathtaking!! The dogs, Bertha and Tubbs loved the garden, and the apples! Lots of useful equipment in the kitchen + the massive spice drawer. Gunson family (Truro, Cornwall)

What an unexpected pleasure - the house and garden are really well equipped with some very useful additions. The Brasserie Les Halles was lovely, good food, great ambiance and local, we'd definitely recommend it. The local bakery is great for croissants - really delicious. We will all go away with great memories of laughter and joy. Thank you. Garn family (Somerset)

Great house, great pool, all extremely well equipped - everything you could need and more. Weather was fairly awful but we had a couple of good days and it didn't prevent us from using the pool and having a really good time. Highlights "La Fregate' creperie in Le Faou - excellent. Local cider from the cider farm also in Le Faou. Morgat, Pentrez Plage (good body boarding for the kids - and their father). We've loved it all. Many thanks. Metcalf family (Leeds)

Beautiful house, extremely well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay very enjoyable. The views are just stunning & the gardes fabulous - the children (all 6 from age 5-12) loved the space as did the 2 labradors! We loved the BBQ and ate outside at every opportunity. A fantastic holiday and a truly lovely house. Thank you. :) Robertson family (Beds/Bucks/Oxon)

So long, Estuary House. We have had a wonderful time here. It was the perfect spot for our family get together to celebrate a special birthday. La Frégate in Le Faou is well worth the hype but either book or get there early, we arrived at 12.20 and everyone after us got turned away! It was the only place we had a crepe for main and dessert. They're that good. All the info has been invaluable and brilliantly presented. Ayrden, Dickerson, Pavely families (Norfolk, Cheshire, Herts & NYC)

To celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary, we decided to share Estuary House with family and friends. It could not have been a better choice, the weather, scenery and company were excellent. Kathy & Glen were part of the group and it is thanks to them that these two weeks were so successful. J&J (Bridgwater)

Thanks for the Easter Eggs!! Our third Easter at Estuary House and, like last year, we were lucky enough to have warm & sunny weather. The last few days have been very hot, we were glad to have the awnings for some protection! As usual, the family has enjoyed the beautiful empty beaches. The pool and garden have put to good use and we have been glad to see the trees bursting into bloom this week inviting lots of garden birds. Hancock family (East Sussex)

What a wonderful well-equipped house. Out of this world, changing scenery, wonderful informative area-information books, well worth a read before planning any visits. Staying home is also possible to chillax around the pool or having local cider at full tide down by the water. Ann and Wim (Belgium)

Wonderful holiday at Estuary House - so much time was spent on the water, swimming in the pool, a number of beaches and the estuary. One highlight was swimming at dawn in the estuary at high tide under a full moon! Other highlights were swimming and kayaking at Morgat, body boarding at Pentrez Plage, surfing at La Palue, the maritime museum at Douarnenez, and the beautiful cool city of Quimper. Above all, the house was delightful. Brilliant setting, well equipped, plenty of room. Tremendous. Le Page family (Guernsey)

Quite a few trips out, Locronan was quaint and the Pointe du Raz on the same day was a super walk and views. Had a special meal in La Viellle Renommee for Phil's 70th birthday. We watched the Diamond Jubilee celebrations - had banners, balloons & Royal masks. The Guide Books were very extensive & interesting to read. Le Faou has lovely bakers & butchers and vans selling fish and strawberries. We all loved watching the tide coming in & out and relaxing with a glass of wine and our dear friends. Had a lovely meal at L'Hermitage. Sutton family (Tavistock)

I have just spent the most amazing week here with my fantastic family to celebrate my 60th birthday, I couldn't have wished for a better place to spent it and we will talk about, laugh and remember the experience for years to come (well, until my 70th that is!) The house is wonderful and the location is superb. We just loved spending time on the decks looking at the ever-changing views of the estuary. The locals were all very friendly and helpful too. We thought your folders were great - such a lot of work - thanks. The market at Daoulas was amazing - such a variety of delicious food, clothing, jewellery, plants etc. However the highlight was probably 'le cochon grillé' on Friday - when we joined in with all the locals at tables in the square and ate roast pig, veges, bread and tarte aux pommes with Breton beer and danced to a local band! A lovely stay. Fantastic weather, great BBQs, lovely beaches and towns, fabulous seafood. Thank you for a great holiday. Andrews family

You have a wonderful house in a glorious setting. The house was very comfortable, thank you and very well stocked too. The week went far too quickly, of course; a brilliant time was had by all, especially by our grand-daughter (17months) who is a 'water baby' and didn't want to get out of the pool! The weather was fantastic and, dare I say it, even a little too hot ( mid 30's), so we stayed close to the pool to keep cool.

Thank you for accommodating us in your super house for the past 2 weeks. We have had a truly restful break.
At 8 months pregnant, this was just what the Doctor ordered. Running around after a 14 month old is never easy but to be able to sit back and watch my husband finally unwind and relax after a demanding year’s work and thoroughly enjoy his ‘baby’ boy before number 2 is well and truly on the scene was simply magical.
They loved splashing about in the pool - something we don’t get the chance to do at home because of the high levels of chlorine in most public swimming pools which aggravates his eczema. I on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the huge sofas and relaxing in the jacuzzi bath.
You have thought of everything and anyone who stays here couldn’t want for more. Smith family
August
Once again we spent an enjoyable time in your house, revisiting some of the walks we took last time and searching out new beaches. Our grandchildren loved the pool. This time our family group was complete, and all nine of us were able to come. The birdlife in the estuary is amazing - we have never seen so many curlews in one place! Fairlie family (Durham)
Thank you very much for letting us stay in your spectacular home, we really enjoyed playing in the pol and siting on the hammock, the views were amazing and I loved having a look through the telescope and I’m sure I’m going to miss sitting down at the bench and looking at the estuary. Tonight we saw 10 bunny rabbits bouncing and playing together and we saw lots of birds when the tide was out. PS - we enjoyed talking to the cows! And a new friend Burnie the pigeon, he built his nest right next to the house! Katie aged 11, going on 12....... (Doncaster)
Thank you or letting us stay in your beautiful house, ample room for 9 of us. Kids & adults really enjoyed the pool and pool toys. The view is fantastic, couldn’t take our eyes off it. Made use of the BBQ a couple of times. The house is so well equipped with everything you could need. Kids loved watching the cows and rabbits and even a kestrel in the garden. Loved using the binocs and the telescope, will be sad to leave the fantastic view. Thanks again for everything. Sharpe, Warner and Carr families (Doncaster)

Wow......what an amazing house + area! We have had a fantastic time and didn't want to leave. The space is great and the house is clean enough to eat off the floor! Everything is thought of and provided which made for an excellent stay. We are so grateful for the feasability of a 4-day stay and slightly early arrival. Will recommend to everyone + we were the envy of all at the conference when we showed the pictures! Thank you so much! Plymouth Cystic Fibrosis Team (Plymouth)

Your website and first-hand reports suggested this house to be something special! It has surpassed all expectations!
What a magical setting, geared to give all ages a truly memorable holiday. It’s the first time we have attempted a holiday ‘toute en famille’ and we could not have found a more delightful spot. Thank you for the care you evidently take to make it such an all entrancing/comfortable experience. We are enchanted with the estuary, landscape, and the unbelievable birdsong...... Wardle family

What a fantastic holiday we have all had. Despite a bit of rain the first week the sun came out in force the 2nd week and the pool was used every day! The library is fantastic and we all found something of interest. Great communal areas where we had many a game of cards. All the recommended places to visit were visited and enjoyed. The pizzeria restaurant in Le Faou was frequented along with the restaurant next door to it which did amazing steak. The staff in both eateries were friendly and helpful. We all had a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable holiday and seeing as the sun is shining again today, we are sorry to leave. I'm sure we will be back!! Kay family (S. Wales)
We have had a brilliant week. The house was a home from home and had everything we could ask for. The kids have grown fins! They made full use of the pool. The weather was wonderful and we have made the most of every minute. We would fully recommend the beaches around Camaret sur Mer, Concarneau and the boys enjoyed the many golf courses around Concarneau. Many thanks Kathy - we will be recommending the house to our friends and hope to visit again soon. Maudsley, Baker and Newell famiies (Guildford)

We so enjoyed your lovely house, amazingly well equipped and thought-out in every way. The highlight for me was my 70th birthday dinner at Les Viviers de Terenez, where we all feasted on lobster, crab and oysters. The house held all 12 of us with the greatest of ease. The Sunday antique market in the Crozon yielded many treasures. Smail family (London)

First time in Brittany & had a wonderful time although some days were a bit damper than we would have chosen. Estuary House is to be envied in its location & amenities, not a day went by without the pool being used. Tyler family (S. Yorkshire)
July
We've had a fabulous couple of weeks, with almost unbroken hot and sunny weather. The house is wonderful to be in: or rather, be outside of, sitting around one of the tables, swimming in the pool or reading on one of the loungers. Even though we've felt slightly guilty about it, there have been days on end where we haven't wanted to move from this lovely environment. Jacob (11 yrs old) managed 70 laps of the pool; we don't know if anyone's managed more so far, but issue this as a challenge to future children! Buckton family (Cambridge)

Well - for the time of year, the first half of the week was reasonable and fairly warm - but Wednesday onwards it has been like mid-summer! Hot - swimming in the pool and sunbathing. What a lovely position this is - gorgeous views. The stairs were a fag - but worth it! Quimper and Concarneau (as you said) were well worth the drive and Faou is a nice little village too with a good atmosphere. All in all - a lovely restful week - we could stay longer. Buffy the fox terrier says a big 'woof' for the doggie chews! Prett family (Poole)

Evenings almost always started with white wine and oysters (we even found oysters in the estuary) in the garden or on the balcony. From the swimmimg pool there has been laughter and joy not only once or twice but at least 3 or 4 times a day. We're glad we chose this house to celebrate our mother's/mother-in-law's/grandma's 70th birthday. Brandsma family (Sweden)

The grandchildren especially enjoyed the pool as did we. Coincidentally like your earlier guests this was a family holiday to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday. We enjoyed the Crozon Peninsula, especially the cliff walks and beaches near Camaret. Fairlie family (Durham)

A wonderful house with many beautiful locations nearby to explore, I would suggest Locronan, a lovely village with winding streets to explore. Concarneau has a walled town with one of the best creperies. But if you are feeling lazy I'm sure you'll find the house itself is more than enough to keep you happy. I was particularly fascinated by the tide clock, watching the ebb and flow of the tide is very relaxing. Goodrick family (Brighton)

The boys certainly made the most of the pool! Quimper market is worth a visit - found some horse meat for the Barbeque. Thanks for a fantastic holiday. Nicholson family (Saltash, Cornwall)

PS - What a wonderful place, the brilliant sunshine took us by surprise as we visited the surrounding areas, Concarneau with it's magical feel and history, Locronan with it's cobbled streets, grand Cathedral and little boutiques. The bay of Douarnenez left us breathless by it's beauty!
At Plouganvelin near Le Conquet we discovered a fabulous restaurant called 'Hostellerie de la Pointe St Matthieu (restaurant gastronomique), one hour's drive but well worth it, expensive.......but superb, a memorable experience. We look forward to our next visit, and please do not miss QUIMPER!! Thank you Kathy and Glen. Micheline

Great house, four floors, now very fit!! Have visited most of the places you recommend but still chilled!! Kids loved the pool, the dolphin is now called 'Dolgus'.
